About US
R. Tammy Fleming Lupus Foundation’s mission is to educate our community about the “little known” autoimmune disease called lupus. Our lupus foundation is a charitable organization with tax exempt status granted under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal ID# is: 84-4669849. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
We have committed time, effort, and research to gain knowledge of this disease. Although, we are not in the healthcare profession, we have dedicated our lives to learn about lupus and share as much information as we can. Approximately 1.5 million people in the U.S. have lupus. People of African, Asian, and Native American descent are more likely to develop lupus than are Caucasians, however, no one is exempt. Although it can occur in both men and women, 90% of people diagnosed with the disease are women. We aim to do whatever we can to help ensure that Lupus “Warriors” are educated and have the highest quality of life. We organize annual walks to spread awareness and raise funding for the cause. We also offer scholarships ($500+) every other year to a deserving Lupus “Warrior” to help with the cost of college.
The R. Tammy Fleming Foundation vows to serve the community in every way that we can. One way that we love to give back is by offering scholarships to deserving college students who are battling through life with lupus. Please share this information with a deserving “lupus warrior”. We’d love to help lighten the load and help him/her to further their education.
